Farewell Kind Soul – 07/05/16

Last August, my aunt passed away. Nine short and swift months later my uncle has left this world too. My uncle’s death leaves behind many sad hearts. He touched the lives of so many people in the most meaningful and profound way. His passing reinforces the fragility and indeed frailty of life.

When someone you love passes into the next realm – it is natural for family members to utter plaudits and remember the positives. However, words cannot adequately describe the admiration I have for my father’s brother. He was – without any exaggeration – the kindest, gentlest and most genuine person I have ever met. He was a man who endured much physical pain, but who embodied the highest patience. Sometimes it was easy to overlook his bravery because he made it look so effortless. He was a person of few words, but when he spoke – he spoke with such sincerity and innocence it could bring tears to the driest of eyes.

I will always remember his steadying and calm presence during the most difficult period of my own life. We choose our friends, but our family are chosen for us. I am ever so grateful that I was a part of his family. May God bless his precious soul. Goodbye.

I’m so sorry to hear of your uncle’s passing. It sounds like he was a wonderful man who made a difference to your life and the lives of others and who’s brave and good heart you will carry in your own. You do realise the fragility of this life when a loved one passes, and the importance of living life in a meaningful way; looking beyond the material to wider realms, of truth, love and wisdom.

Insha Allah your Uncle is in a better place. The only thing guaranteed in life is death. We all have to go one day but all we can do is pray that May Allah Thala reunite us all with our loved ones in Jannah 💖
